SPRING SUMMER 2010
FLEECE

fleece takes its inspiration from the central Christian mystery of the crucifixion.

Woven like a carpet, the hand-felted Cotswold rams’ fleece creates a three-dimensional effect that questions the physical aesthetic of the piece.  By deliberately mimicking heavily textured fabrics through a digital photographic process, the piece contrasts the real, or natural, with the unreal, or contrived.

In combining the contrasting qualities of the natural and the digital, fleece is an interactive piece of work that invites the participant to ask questions beyond the realms of religious observance alone to those of control, perfection, oppression, obsession and idealism.

With an MA in Textiles, Lee has combined his expertise, passion, creativity and cutting edge approach to create a new range of unisex reversible scarves and hoods.

The stunning collection of accessories is handcrafted to the highest standard in England and is made with luxury digital and hand-printed British fabrics. The pieces are unique and are one-off Lee Lapthorne art prints, the hoods are reversible and finished with jeweler Adela Straughan toggles and a Lee Lapthorne seal embroidered button.

Each design is unique, available in different sizes.
